Job description

You are a troubleshooter. A de-escalator. You love solving complex challenges. You are someone that has a skill for getting things done through others. You know how to motivate managers, hold teams accountable, and help others succeed. As the Rental Operations Regional Manager, you will spend your time in the field supporting five branches and the teams at each equipment rental location, building relationships with your managers, removing obstacles, and creating consistency across the region.

Rental Operations Regional Manager – Your Job Duties

You will oversee rental operations across 5 branch locations, providing leadership, operational direction, and support that drives profitability, consistency, and an exceptional customer experience, traveling to visit all of the locations on a regular basis.

You will:

  • Directly oversee 5 Branch Managers (located in Elk Grove, Roseville, Sacramento, Yuba City, and Vacaville) and indirectly oversee ~80 employees
  • Establish and maintain consistent operational standards across every branch to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Coach Branch Managers on leadership, employee development, accountability, and day to day operational decision making.
  • Partner with branch teams to solve operational challenges quickly and keep locations operating efficiently – you are the escalation and troubleshoot point.
  • Work alongside sales representatives to develop territory strategies, pursue major rental opportunities, grow customer relationships, and expand market share.
  • Develop training programs that strengthen employee knowledge of rental equipment, products, customer service, and sales techniques.
  • Partner with Inventory and Service teams to optimize rental fleet planning, equipment purchases, maintenance, and fleet utilization.

Success in this role looks like you solving challenges at your level so your manager can focus on driving strategic initiatives and overall company growth. You are a lot of blocking, a little bit of tackling.

Rental Operations Regional Manager – You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit)

You are:

  • A troubleshooter and problem solver. If a problem crosses your desk, you ask great questions and identify a solution.
  • An experienced manager (including having experience managing other managers)
  • Prior experience developing employees through coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management
  • Excited to work in Sacramento and visit multiple locations throughout Sacramento regularly – from Vacaville to Elk Grove
  • Clean driving record and ability to drive a company vehicle (provided to you)

You might have:

  • Prior experience leading rental operations, equipment rental, branch operations, or multi location service operations.
  • Prior experience overseeing multiple branch locations or regional operations.

Your compensation will be $120,000 to $140,000 base salary, depending on your experience, plus an annual performance bonus targeted at 20% of your base salary, with the opportunity to earn up to 40% based on performance.

Your total on target earnings (OTE) are anticipated to be $144,000 to $168,000 annually, with top performance earnings reaching $160,000 +.

You will be provided with comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k with company match, a full suite of management level benefits and a company vehicle with fuel card.
