Regional Rental Manager's Position Purpose

Responsible for the profitable and efficient operations of the regional Rental Department. Gives advice and makes recommendations to the General Manager and other key executives concerning the best interests of the rental department at a multi-branch level whenever and wherever the company's activities are involved.

Regional Rentals Manager's Essential Functions

  • Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
  • Analyzes machine revenue vs. expense on a regional level and recommends rental rate structure
  • Analyzes driving costs across branches and recommends appropriate changes in customer charges
  • Analyzes various manufacturers' equipment and recommends suitable new products for the region
  • Reviews equipment utilization across branches and recommends inventory adjustments
  • Monitors competitive activity within the region and recommends suitable responses
  • Selects, hires, trains, and oversees branch rental managers and rental personnel across the region
  • Utilizes people and equipment resources efficiently and effectively, ensuring compliance with all safety standards
  • Develops customer relations and maintains positive communications with manufacturers and other vendors
  • Works with region service managers to maximize uptime within the region
  • Reviews major repairs and maintains fleet to acceptable guidelines with the assistance of the fleet maintenance manager
  • Works with the sales department to monitor demos and loaners and optimize machine deliveries across the region
  • Manages accurate records for all branches within the region
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Ensures consistent and reliable on-site attendance at regional branches
  • Works with branch managers to maintain excellence in the rental department across all branches

Regional Rental Manager's Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) yearsโ€™ experience in managing the rentals department within a heavy equipment dealership or rental company or closely related experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications
  • Adept at organizing, planning, and completing tasks to manage a high volume of department paperworkย 

Regional Rental Manager's Physical Requirements

  • Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
  • Physical ability to stand and walk throughout the workday
  • Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition
