About the Role

As Step enters its next phase of rapid growth, we're looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of People Operations to establish the frameworks, systems, and policies that enable our team to do their best work. From onboarding to employee engagement, you will drive initiatives that elevate Step's culture, performance, and long-term talent strategy. This role provides leadership for Talent Acquisition, ensuring we continue to attract exceptional talent as we grow. You'll also partner closely with Beast Industries' executive team, aligning Step's People strategy with broader organizational priorities as part of Beast Industries. 

In this role, you will:
  • Design and implement scalable HR processes that support Step's rapid growth
  • Own the employee experience, from onboarding to retention, ensuring high engagement and performance
  • Develop and implement strategic frameworks for compensation, benefits, and performance management to drive organizational effectiveness
  • Partner with leadership to build employee connectedness and cultivate a strong, inclusive culture aligned with Step's values
  • Implement and manage HR systems, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency
You might thrive in this role if you have:
  • 6+ years of experience in People Operations, HR with leadership experience in a high-growth startup or fintech
  • Demonstrated success building scalable People programs, HR infrastructure, and operational processes from the ground up
  • Experience leading talent acquisition and developing recruiting strategies that attract exceptional talent
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams
  • Exceptional process-building and execution skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Capable of managing immediate priorities while anticipating future needs
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to partner with executives
  • Passion for building a high-performance, people-first culture
