About the Role:Security Researcher


CrowdStrike is looking for a self-starting, action-oriented, and highly motivated individual to join our Intelligence Team. This position will require the candidate to track and collect information related to hacktivist and/or state-sponsored group tools, tradecraft, and techniques in a wide variety of environments, to include the deep and dark web.


The mission of a Security Researcher is to leverage operational tradecraft along with subject matter expertise to identify, develop and maintain unique sources of cyber threat intelligence information and enable threat analysis. It serves as an important support role to ongoing analysis of actors, adversaries, geopolitical developments, and transnational issues, and is instrumental in providing unique insight into finished intelligence products used by CrowdStrike customers and stakeholders.


The successful candidate will be an operational security (OPSEC)-savvy, detail-oriented problem solver, and have substantial experience driving concurrent projects and issues to completion with minimal direction. Fluency in Spanish is a requirement.


Highly qualified candidates will have an excellent technical foundation, especially related to Latin America-based cyber threat actors, be capable of conducting advanced research pertaining to hacktivist and/or state-sponsored activity, will understand threat intelligence, have strong open source (OSINT) research skills, and be comfortable with internal and cross-team collaboration.


What You'll Do:

  • Collect unique, actionable, timely, and relevant information to answer established standing and ad hoc requirements primarily related to Latin America-based hacktivist and/or state-sponsored actors wth a secondary focus on other regions as necessary.

  • Leverage advanced OSINT tradecraft to follow up on leads and identify Latin America and global hacktivist and/or state-sponsored threat actors and track them in various online communities.

  • Identify current and emerging cyber threats and trends in Latin America,and other regions as necessary, including technical information.

  • Create consistently clear, highly-contextualized internal reports of collected information in a way that enables robust analysis.

  • Collaborate on analytical reports and threat estimates pertaining to Latin America and global hacktivist and/or state-sponsored topics.

  • Employ secure operational tradecraft methods and practices.


What You'll Need:

Required:

  • Has extensive experience navigating a wide variety of cyber threat actor environments, to include social media, hidden services, and forums.

  • Demonstrates a high level of knowledge regarding Latin America-based hacktivist and/or state-sponsored groups.

  • Possesses practical knowledge of technical terminology, tools, and tactics employed by Latin America-based hacktivist and/or state-sponsored threat actors.

  • Can perform comprehensive OSINT investigations using advanced Spanish language

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and identify creative solutions to difficult problems and scenarios with persistence. Tenacity is key.

  • Must be able to work effectively under tight deadlines with minimal guidance.

  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

  • Fluent spoken/written Spanish


Preferred:

  • Extensive background in Latin American cyber threat actors and language capabilities including, but not limited to Portuguese and French.

  • Understanding of current and historical geopolitical and transnational events and issues in Latin America.

  • Prior intelligence community, human intelligence (HUMINT), or cyber threat intelligence background highly preferred. Practical experience with virtual HUMINT is highly desirable.


Education:

  • Undergraduate degree or military training and experience in cyber intelligence, general intelligence studies, security studies, political science, international relations, etc.

  • Other technical security certifications or relevant academic background.

The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $70,000 - $95,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
