Job description

Jarvis Cutting Tools, a 125-year-old, family-owned, U.S. based manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled and fluent English-speaking Staff Accountant to join our finance team remotely. This full-time subcontractor position is open to candidates located in Latin America. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager, playing a critical role in supporting financial operations and ensuring accuracy and compliance across accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
Support month-end financial close, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet account reconciliations
Reconcile and analyze key general ledger accounts
Manages all aspects of accounts payable, including invoice verification, payment scheduling and vendor communication.
Maintain and improve internal controls by following policies and suggesting efficiencies
Assist with preparation for annual audits (financial statements, retirement plans, workers' compensation)
Track and maintain fixed asset ledger and record related transactions
Engage in continuous improvement activities using systemic thinking and root cause analysis
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with U.S.-based companies
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS
Proficiency in MRP/ERP software
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to work remotely, with occasional travel to headquarters
Reliable internet connection
Strong math skills
High level of multitasking
Precise, accurate, analytical, and straightforward
Bonus Qualifications
CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification
Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors
Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Familiarity with cost accounting
