Job description

Sales Director – North America

Our client, a rapidly growing organization within the health, wellness, nutraceutical, and functional ingredients industry, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Sales Director to lead commercial growth initiatives across North America.

This executive-level sales leader will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships, and optimizing commercial operations across both branded products and ingredient solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in B2B sales leadership, commercial strategy, and team development within the dietary supplement, functional ingredient, food ingredient, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the North American sales team, creating a high-performance, results-driven culture.
  • Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and commercial priorities aligned with growth targets.
  • Drive accountability, sales discipline, and execution excellence across the team.
  • Lead the North American business development strategy and support achievement of regional growth objectives.
  • Develop, coach, and support the sales team in identifying, advancing, and converting new business opportunities.
  • Manage and grow key accounts while actively pursuing new business development opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across dietary supplement and consumer health companies.
  • Support strategic opportunities and accelerate customer acquisition across the region.
  • Drive commercial excellence throughout the sales cycle, from opportunity identification through commercialization.
  • Expand the company's presence within existing customers through strategic account development, cross-selling, and upselling.
  • Own the North American sales budget and growth plan.
  • Develop annual sales targets, budgets, and commercial priorities aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion across the portfolio.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, and effective resource allocation.
  • Monitor business performance against budget and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Partner effectively with Customer Service, Operations, Purchasing, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, and other internal functions to support customer success and business growth.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of commercial experience within the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, or health ingredients industry.
  • Proven success commercializing science-backed ingredients, with demonstrated experience driving growth of branded ingredients.
  • Strong network within the North American dietary supplement industry
  • Strong business development and strategic account management experience.
  • Experience leading and developing sales teams while maintaining direct customer responsibility..
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Ability to translate scientific evidence into compelling commercial value propositions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • MBA or advanced business education is a plus.
