HR Coordinator

Location: Remote (Candidates ideally in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone)

Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually, based on experience

About the Role

The Treetop is seeking a highly organized and motivated HR Coordinator to join our growing Human Resources team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with 1–3 years of experience who is eager to expand their knowledge and build a long-term career in Human Resources.

We're looking for someone who is a quick learner, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys supporting employees while ensuring HR operations run efficiently. This role is heavily focused on the administrative and operational side of Human Resources.

What You'll Do

As our HR Coordinator, you'll serve as a key resource for employees and managers while supporting the day-to-day administration of HR functions across multiple states.

Responsibilities
  • Process and audit multi-state payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR questions and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Assist with workers' compensation reporting and claim administration.
  • Support unemployment claims and employment verifications.
  • Prepare HR reports, audits, and compliance documentation.
  • Partner with the Finance team on payroll and employee data as needed.
  • Assist with leave administration, including FMLA and other protected leaves.
  • Maintain HR documents, policies, and employee files.
  • Coordinate new hire paperwork and orientation logistics.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvements.
  • Perform additional administrative duties to support the Human Resources department.
Required Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of Human Resources or Payroll experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and HRIS proficiency.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
  • Experience with payroll and benefits administration.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (experience with Viventium is a plus).
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
