We are currently searching for our newest Pharmacy Informatics Specialist who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community.
Pharmacy Informatics Specialist position details:
  • Facility: St. Joseph's Hospital
  • Location: Tampa, FL - Remote
  • Status: Full time, exempt
  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Weekend Work: None
  • On Call: No

Pharmacy Informatics Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Provides enterprise-level pharmacy informatics support by optimizing the design, build, and maintenance of the electronic health record (EHR) to improve patient outcomes, medication safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Integrates pharmacy practice expertise with informatics and health information technology (HIT) systems to support safe medication use and enhance clinical decision support.
  • Serves as a key liaison across clinical disciplines to evaluate, develop, and implement EHR optimization requests and other pharmacy system enhancements as needed.

Certifications and Licensure:
  • Required: Pharmacist - State of FL
  • Preferred:
    • CPHIMS (Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems) from HIMSS (Health Information Management and System Society)
    • ACHIP (AMIA Certified Health Informatics Professional) from AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association)
    • Graduate Certificate in HealthCare Informatics

Education Requirements:
  • Required: Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy;
  • Preferred: Masters - Information Technology

Preferred Experience:
  • PGY-2 Residency - Pharmacy Informatics.
  • 2+ years Pharmacy Informatics and Informatic Technology
