At Cengage, our employees have a direct impact in helping students around the world discover the power and joy of learning. We are bonded by our shared purpose - driving innovation that helps millions of learners improve their lives and achieve their dreams through education.

Focusing on college and career readiness, Cengage School equips students with the skills and confidence to succeed beyond the classroom. Through exclusive access to National Geographic Learning, Big Ideas Learning, Gale, Thorndike Press and Cengage curriculum and technology, it engages learners in core subjects and career pathways-empowering educators and inspiring student success.

Our culture values inclusion, engagement, and discovery

Our business is driven by our strong culture, and we know that creating an inclusive workplace is absolutely essential to the success of our company and our learners, as well as our individual well-being. We recognize the value of diverse perspectives in everything we do, and strive to ensure employees of all levels and backgrounds feel empowered to voice their ideas and bring their authentic selves to work. As a Program Manager in our Cengage School portfolio, you will play an essential role in ensuring the high integrity planning and execution of platform migrations. You will build a playbook and manage a complex, cross-functional, multi-year project plan, ensuring that we are on track to achieve delivery milestones. The role will be high-visibility and offer exciting challenges of problem solving, collaboration and communication, cross-team orchestration, and day-to-day program leadership.

What you'll do here:

  • Collaborate with Content & Portfolio, Marketing, Customer Success and Revenue Operations to gather all operational and customer-facing milestones and tasks to be tracked from inception to final delivery

  • Create unified schedules, manage dependencies, and track progress across multiple workstreams - product data/setup, physical inventory, customer entitlements, content migration/product availability, technology releases

  • Drive communication on program health up and across the organization

  • Identify and communicate needs of the program to ensure it is set up for success, including the creation of a "playbook" that can be used as a template for all platform migrations

  • Serve as triage point for incoming requests from stakeholders, using internal networks to solve or escalate problems

Skills you will need here:

  • 3-6 years of experience in project or program management

  • Solid ability to lead by influence; e.g., successfully deliver large projects and programs without having direct authority over teams

  • Tenacity and flexibility in problem solving, with the awareness to know how and when to change direction based on the input and feedback of partners

  • Expert at facilitating high-functioning meetings, including leading productive conversations, and securing and documenting decisions efficiently

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
