We are seeking a SharePoint Migration Engineer to support a large-scale digital workplace transformation initiative. This role will focus on analyzing, planning, and executing migrations of collaboration platforms and associated business content into Microsoft 365.

Job Summary

We are seeking a SharePoint Migration Engineer to support a large-scale digital workplace transformation initiative. This role will focus on analyzing, planning, and executing migrations of collaboration platforms and associated business content into Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in migration strategy, content management, and Microsoft collaboration technologies, along with the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

•     Analyze existing collaboration platforms, repositories, and business content to assess migration readiness and requirements.

•     Plan and execute migrations of documents, sites, workflows, permissions, and related content into Microsoft 365.

•     Design migration approaches that align with business, technical, security, and compliance requirements.

•     Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical partners to define migration waves, timelines, and dependencies.

•     Identify content risks, gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for optimization during migration planning.

•     Configure and support SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and related Microsoft 365 collaboration capabilities as needed.

•     Validate migrated content to ensure completeness, usability, metadata integrity, and access controls.

•     Troubleshoot migration issues and implement remediation steps to minimize disruption.

•     Develop migration documentation, runbooks, standards, and user support materials.

•     Support testing, cutover planning, and post-migration stabilization activities.

•     Contribute to governance and best practices for content organization, records handling, and collaboration platform adoption.

Required Qualifications

•     Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

•     Experience supporting SharePoint migration or broader Microsoft 365 migration initiatives.

•     Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Teams, and related collaboration technologies.

•     Experience analyzing legacy collaboration platforms and planning content migration strategies.

•     Familiarity with migration tools, scripts, and automation approaches used in SharePoint or Microsoft 365 transformations.

•     Understanding of permissions, metadata, taxonomy, document management, and content lifecycle considerations.

•     Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

•     Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

•     Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

•     Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital workplace or collaboration platform transformations.

•     Familiarity with governance, compliance, and information management considerations in Microsoft 365.

•     Experience working with cross-functional teams in large, matrixed organizations.

•     Knowledge of change management and end-user adoption considerations related to platform migrations.

•     Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus.
