Position Overview

We are now seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Prevailing Wage & Certified Payroll Coordinator to join our Corporate Payroll team. The Senior Prevailing Wage Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely submission of certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting across multiple jurisdictions. This role serves as a subject matter expert on prevailing wage regulations, supporting field operations, clients, and internal teams while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local requirements, including State Tracking, Department of Labor (DOL) and IRS guidelines.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of prevailing wage and certified payroll reports in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements (Trackers, DOL, IRS, and applicable agencies)
  • Review and validate payroll data including classifications, pay rates, and fringe benefits to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain and audit prevailing wage job setups and assignments to ensure proper configuration and reporting
  • Lead resolution of complex prevailing wage discrepancies, including misclassifications, underpayments, and reporting errors
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for prevailing wage and certified payroll, providing guidance to field offices, internal teams, and clients
  • Support and respond to regulatory inquiries, audits, and documentation requests related to prevailing wage compliance
  • Partner with Payroll, HR, Operations, and Compliance teams to ensure accurate data flow and adherence to requirements
  • Monitor trends and identify risks or process gaps; recommend and implement improvements to strengthen controls and compliance
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, and SOPs to support audit readiness and standardized processes
  • Support system updates, reporting, and data validation related to prevailing wage and certified payroll processes
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members to ensure consistency and adherence to processes
  • All other duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of payroll or compliance experience, including exposure to prevailing wage and certified payroll
  • Working knowledge of prevailing wage regulations (Davis-Bacon, DOL, and state/local requirements)
  • Experience reviewing, preparing, or auditing certified payroll reports
  • Strong understanding of employee classifications, wage determinations, and fringe benefit requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex payroll or compliance issues
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data for accuracy, trends, and potential risks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data validation, reconciliation, and reporting)
  • Experience with payroll systems and reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain regulatory requirements to non-payroll stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and serve as a subject matter expert
