About the role:

We are seeking an experienced proposal writer with knowledge and experience working with sales, product managers and technical and operations subject matter experts to write and edit content for proposals responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) from U.S. state governments.

The Proposal Writer will write for assigned sections of the RFP. They will coordinate with Subject Matter Experts from the sales and product line to produce content that meets all requirements and includes sales messaging for the prospective government agency. The role will include working closely with teammates to coordinate messaging and quality throughout the RFP response.

About the team:

The Response Center of Excellence is seeking a Proposal Writer who communicates FIS' sales message to state government benefit agencies with powerful, complete RFP responses. The EBT Proposal Writer team includes expert proposal managers and writers who are dedicated to supporting the business line's sales teams. Their responsibilities include managing the RFP response process to deliver professional, comprehensive, and high-quality response packages. The team meticulously analyzes the requirements of each RFP, integrates sales and product expertise, and produces FIS-branded response packages that move the sales opportunity closer to wins.

What you will be doing:

  • Write creative, compelling, compliant and winning written responses to state government requests and solicitations.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a writing team using a style guide to achieve a common voice, style, and message.

  • Convert complex solution and technical information, jargon and acronyms into evaluator-friendly, compliant content conveying sales messaging and win themes.

  • Minimal travel.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least five years of demonstrated experience in proposal writing.

  • Proven knowledge and experience with large, complex proposals in response to state government RFPs.

  • Government EBT experience

  • Experience with industry-standard proposal development processes. APMP or Shipley preferred.

  • Experience using proposal platforms and AI tools. Responsive and Copilot experience preferred.

  • Experience with content management and content database tools.

  • Ability to write persuasively using the prospect's points of interest, goals and objectives as stated in the RFP. Ensuring each proposal answer conforms to the RFP requirements and instructions.

  • Experience designing/writing/editing tables, diagrams, charts, matrices, past performance descriptions and resumes for proposals.

  • Experience conducting interviews with subject matter experts, reviewing product and services source materials, and meeting milestones and deadlines.

  • Advanced skill in editing writing for punctuation, syntax and grammar.

  • Expert level experience in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be proficient creation and use of templates (.dot), styles, field codes, automated tables of contents, etc.

The pay range for this full-time position is $56,310.00 - $95,740.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location.
