Primary Role:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Project Management Assistant to support the project management team. In this role you will play a critical role in supporting to project management team in planning, executing and completing various underground projects. As a Project Management Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting projects that foster collaboration and guarantee industry standards and best practices are met. This role is an exciting opportunity for those eager to advance their careers in project management in the underground utilities industry.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Maintain communication with project team regarding project needs and goals
  • Assist in the planning, development, coordination, and management of projects
  • Assist in the requisition and procurement of materials and supplies
  • Research information as required
  • Perform administrative tasks such as invoicing and issuing purchase orders
  • Manage all project documentation
  • Keep project schedules updated and report to customers under direction from PM
  • Perform review on documents and plans for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in preparation of bid and contract documents for assigned projects

Reporting:

  • Track and report on project progress
  • Manage daily tracking of work completed and decision making for actions required to meet the schedule
  • Manage daily and weekly status and progress reports of construction on site
  • Develop and update the project schedule based on client requests as needed
  • Assist with applying for utility permits and follows up with jurisdictions regarding inspections to maintain compliance
  • Create weekly and monthly reports for PM
  • Draft change orders for scopes of work, schedule of values and schedules associated with both.
  • Data entry for all projects

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years demonstrated experience in project management/assisting, or field industry experience
  • An Associate's Degree in Construction Management is preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter, highly organized and able to multitask
  • Superior problem solver with attention to detail & possess excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
