Job description

Job Summary: The program manager assists the operational leader to manage and coordinate large and/or complex IT and New Services projects through all phases of Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitor/Control and Closing within structured programs. The program manager assists with the planning and prioritizing each of the projects within the program areas to achieve the program’s goals and objectives and ensure they align with organization strategy. Experience in building and leading multiple, simultaneous IT project teams of up to 20 IT, business, project management or hospital/clinical professionals and working with organizational leaders to recommend, prioritize, schedule and execute multiple simultaneous related projects within a given program to achieve strategic and operational goals of the program.  Thorough knowledge of IT, Healthcare/clinical operations, project management and business terminology, procedures and policies. Significant ability to communicate effectively with technical subject matter experts, providers/nurses, clinical and operational leaders and subject matter experts. Considerable ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve excellent IT and clinical project outcomes in the healthcare IT context and meet stakeholder needs accordingly.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing or other healthcare related area with a minimum of 3-5 years in relevant clinical area of expertise and 3-5 years of experience as a systems analyst, system coordinator or system administrator in healthcare IT; or 7-10 years in relevant clinical area of expertise and 7-10 years of experience as a systems analyst, system coordinator or system administrator in healthcare IT. Master's degree in nursing, Business Administration (MBA), or other related professional degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience, including a minimum of 2 years program management. Minimum of 8 years of experience in relevant program area(s).

Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required. PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is preferred or eligible to sit for the PgMP exam within 18 months. Epic certification in a clinical or revenue cycle application preferred.
