*** Part- Time Monday- Friday between the hours of 8:30 A.M.- 4:30 P.M., Pay Rate: $16.00 Per Hour***

Summary/Primary Purpose: Program Aide member is responsible for providing leadership and monitoring of activities in the Gymnasium, Sports Fields, Fitness Deck and other areas that may host Programming and events. Responsible for the ongoing monitoring, equipment care, and promotion of all programs related to sports, leagues, tournaments, health, fitness and wellness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide service, leadership and mentoring to all Community Center members, guests, Aide and volunteer of all ages, ethnicity and backgrounds.
  • Proactively ensure a safe and clean Sports & Recreation environment for all Community Center Aide, volunteers, members and participants.
  • Provide leadership by setting up activity equipment such as tables, instruments, electronics, etc.
  • Monitor activities, as directed, to include opening gym and sports fields, special events, etc.
  • Give additional support to the Sports & Recreation Aide, instructors, interns, coaches, referees and volunteers.
  • Assist in managing league, programming, and rentals as well as assist with assigned duties during the Sal League.
  • Assist in the development, improvement and implementation of systems that safeguard any/all facilities, supplies and equipment related to programs.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment and notify the leadership team of the need for significant or immediate repair of supplies and equipment.
  • Transport patrons by vehicle to various events as needed; including but not limited to the Christmas season.
  • As required, participate in designated Aide training.
  • Attend all scheduled team meetings and Aide meetings as directed by the programming department.
  • Driving is an essential function of the role.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent, 2 years' experience required.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • The ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong creativity and socialization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
