Program Assistant Summary:
The Program Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Manager, Eligibility Operations through various administrative and clerical duties and will provide support to various programs and projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides support to the Manager, Eligibility Operations
  • Assists in 211 and Weatherization programs and projects
  • Verifies, organizes applications and assists in approvals and denials
  • Communicates between Weatherization Program participants
  • Communicates between 211 Financial Assistance program participants
  • Attends staff meetings and takes notes
  • Makes copies and updates participant and program files as needed
  • Assists with inbound calls when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Detail oriented with the ability to navigate within structured timelines and regulations.

  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have polite, clear and compelling oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to execute and accomplish immediate deliverables on short notice.
  • Must be highly organized, responsive and be able to handle multiple deliverables at the same time.
  • Must be a great teammate that cares deeply about the overall success of UWM.
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree in a business-related field or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • 2-4 years of related experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
