Job description

JOB SUMMARY: As a member of the production team, Production Support partners are responsible for the daily support or operation of processing and packaging equipment used to manufacture high quality food products in a fast-paced production environment. Team members take an active role in the areas of Safety, Quality and Productivity. Strong communication and team skills are essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operates in work groups and monitors processes within an assigned area of responsibility
  • Loads and unloads items from machines and conveyors
  • Feeds materials through production equipment
  • Monitors and inspects products to verify conformance to quality and safety standards
  • Assists in operating equipment while evaluating product or package quality
  • Transfers finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks
  • Communicates with supervisors and other leaders concerning safety, quality and processing issues
  • Removes products, machine attachments, or waste material from machines as directed
  • Provides cleaning and sanitation of assigned areas
  • Responsibility for the health and safety of self and co-workers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • This is an entry-level position. No previous manufacturing experience is required, but will be considered
  • Must be 18 years of age older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work successfully with a team
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to understand and communicate work instructions in English
  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply company standards including, but not limited to lock-out/tag-out, safety practices, GMPs, SOPs, employee handbook, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a group/team setting and welcome change in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed
  • Must be customer- and team-oriented, reliable and meet attendance standards

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:
  • Workers exposed to temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. More extreme temperatures possible during summer months. Most positions require standing, repetitive movement, bending and twisting, and using hands to handle objects; exposure to sustained noise levels; exposure to a variety of food allergens; exposure to hazards such as machinery, slippery floors, and powered industrial vehicles. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Able to work in an environment containing nuts, peanuts, grains and other allergens.
  • Must be able to stand for a long period of time, climb, reach, walk, lift, grasp, feel, bend and twist.
  • Repetitively lifting up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Must be available for all shifts, nights, weekends, some holidays, occasional overtime, if necessary.
