What you'll do:

  • Responsible for development of digital first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA Members Leads development and launch of new innovative product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products.

  • Responsible for maintaining thorough level of knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope (e.g. trends, results, etc.) Responsible for post-launch monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of 'new in market' products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.

  • Develop recommendations to launch new products and the evaluation and decision to buy/build or ally for individual product(s).

  • Generate creative product and coverage solutions for members needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists.

  • Responsible for maintaining thorough level of knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope (e.g. trends, results, etc.).

  • Responsible for post-launch monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of 'new in market' products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.

  • Conduct complex analysis of internal and external data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence.

  • Develop and communicate the new product value proposition for individual products.

  • Ensure sales support is delivered to all distribution channels (e.g., com, mobile, contact center) so that the new product is properly positioned to members.

  • Lead the analysis and evaluation of new product performance metrics to make changes to offerings, if necessary, prior to full launch.

  • Coordinate with relevant control partners (including Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are designed and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. ​

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience.

  • Extensive experience in developing, deploying and supporting products and/or integrated suite of products.

  • Experience working through agile product development process, managing multiple products simultaneously.

  • Knowledge and application of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).

  • Creative problem solver with hands on experience in problem framing, qualitative & quantitative research, running product experiments, hypothesis testing and prototyping to launch products at the intersection of Human, Technology and Business dimensions.

  • Navigates through ambiguous contexts with confidence.

  • Ability to break large complex initiatives into smaller manageable features and capabilities and deliver them early and often. ​

What sets you apart:

  • Experience in product development, pricing, or analytics roles within financial services or insurance, with exposure to product or portfolio financial performance.

  • Demonstrated understanding of product economics and P&L drivers, with experience designing or influencing product and pricing decisions intended to improve profitability and long‑term value.

  • Strong data fluency, including the ability to analyze, interpret, and challenge complex datasets, and understand how data is sourced, transformed, governed, and used across the organization to inform decisions.

  • Experience developing, testing, or optimizing pricing and product strategies, including experimentation frameworks and performance measurement.

  • Familiarity supporting or contributing to product modernization initiatives, including improvements to data quality, system capabilities, or operating models.

  • Deep understanding of the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, including digital and service channel interactions.

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and influence decisions through analysis, insight, and structured problem‑solving.

  • Experience partnering across Product, Pricing, Data, Technology, and Go‑to‑Market teams to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts for senior stakeholders.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310.00 - $243,340.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
