Sterile Processing
Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Assistant- Decontamination reports to the Sterile Processing Manager and Supervisor. The Sterile Processing Assistant takes direction from the Lead Tech or Department Lead. They will be responsible for set up of basic surgical instruments, including cleaning, decontamination and inspection. Working in decontamination will require use of full PPE attire at alll times (Personal Protective Equipment) and be responsible for removal of all blood and tissue products from surgical instruments to get instruments prepared for the automatic washer. The Sterile Processing Assistant will also be responsible for operating multiple equipment washers, ultrasonic machines, and cart washer. The Sterile Processing Assistant supports the Sterile Processing Technicians within the department. Additional responsibilities may include: sorting surgical instruments, preparation of surgical trays, placing sterile trays in storage containers and transporting items to the operating room (OR) under supervision of a Lead Technician.
Must be able to pull and push carts 25-50 pounds, standing for long periods of time, moving surgical instrument trays between 25-50 pounds and working in an environment using various types of chemical agents.
Shift detail/hours: Night Shifts 11p-7:30a are available
Salary Details:
Hourly rate is determined by years of experience relating to this role and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $18.35, max of salary range is $27.30.
