Position Summary:

The Pricebook Specialist is responsible for executing and maintaining accurate item master data, attributes, cost, retail, and promotional pricing within the company’s pricebook system. This role ensures that product and pricing information is set up correctly and supports the day-to-day needs of merchandising, operations, finance, store teams, and third-party partners. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of data accuracy and retail systems. This role plays a key part in delivering clean, timely pricing and product execution and support across the business.

Responsibilities:

1. Pricebook Maintenance

  • Enter and update item master records, attributes, retail prices, vendor costs, and promotional data in the pricebook system.
  • Ensure the timely setup of new items, item changes, and product deletions according to company standards and merchandising calendars.
  • Audit and validate data to ensure consistency and accuracy across systems.
  • Troubleshoot and correct pricing or item setup errors in coordination with category team.

2. Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with merchandising, operations, finance, and store teams to support accurate item and pricing execution in relation to receiving, invoicing, adjustments, audits, selling, or discontinuing products.
  • Serve as a point of contact for item data and pricing-related questions or corrections from internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly to resolve issues or clarify product data discrepancies.

3. Promotional and Pricing Execution

  • Support the loading and management of promotional pricing and markdowns in accordance with corporate timelines and accuracy requirements.
  • Work with Management to confirm that promotions align with merchandising intent and pricing strategy.
  • Monitor active promotions and ensure proper pricing activation and expiration.

4. Data Integrity & Reporting

  • Run system reports and validation checks to ensure the completeness and accuracy of item data and pricing records.
  • Assist in generating pricing audit reports or item setup status updates as requested.
  • Participate in routine reviews of pricing data to support margin accuracy and operational consistency.

5. Process & Systems Support

  • Follow standard operating procedures for all pricebook-related activities and suggest improvements when inefficiencies are identified.
  • Participate in system testing, upgrades, or training sessions as needed.
  • Maintain organized documentation of pricing and item activity for reference and audit support.

Working Relationship: Category Management, Merchandising, Loyalty, Marketing, Finance, IT, Operations Leadership, Store Teams, and Third-Party Partners


Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Merchandising, Retail Operations, or related field preferred.

Minimum Experience: Experience in retail operations, pricing, or data entry/management roles.

Basic understanding of retail pricing strategies and item lifecycle.

Preferred Experience:  

  • 2+ years of experience in retail operations, pricing, or data entry/management roles.
  • Familiarity with retail items and pricing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Retalix, or other pricebook platforms).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organized with strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Travel: Ability to travel independently 0-5%.  

Hours & Conditions:  Monday – Friday 8 hour day in office setting

Occasional extended hours may be needed to meet deadlines related to product launches or promotions.

Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver and regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds.
