Press Machine Operator Requirements

  • GED or diploma (trade school = bonus)
  • Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
  • Ability to set up and operate computer-controlled press machines
  • Experience using measuring gauges and performing quality inspections
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow production specifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortably lifting to 33 lbs. and standing for an entire shift
  • Basic computer skills for production reporting and data entry
  • Steel-toe shoes and safety glasses required

Press Machine Operator Job Duties

  • Set up and operate Osterwalder, Dorst, or Teledyne carbide presses
  • Load and unload inserts while monitoring machine performance
  • Inspect parts using gauges and visual inspection equipment
  • Pull product samples and record inspection results in computer systems
  • Weigh and load tungsten powder for production
  • Separate and document scrap and finished products accurately
  • Maintain press tooling and perform minor machine adjustments
