Stamping Press Operator

Location: Walker, MI Shift: 2nd shift 3:00 pm - 1:00 am Pay: $17.50/ hour

Are you a skilled and quality-focused manufacturing professional looking for your next opportunity? We’re seeking a Stamping Press Operator to join our team in Walker, MI. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating stamping presses, supporting die set-ups, and ensuring parts meet all quality and customer requirements.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Stamping Press Operator, your core responsibilities will include:

Press Operation & Setup: Operate stamping presses from last-piece approval through first-piece approval and assist with die and equipment set-ups following standardized instructions.
Material Handling & Packaging: Ensure correct material is loaded onto coil carts, fed properly into equipment, and that appropriate dunnage and packaging are available.
Quality Inspection & Reporting: Inspect parts at defined intervals, perform first and last hit inspections, verify gauge certifications, and accurately report production quantities in the AX system.
In addition, you will also be expected to maintain a clean and safe work area following 5S standards and communicate die readiness or repair needs to the Tooling group.

What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Three to five years of stamping press or related manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Hi-Lo (forklift) license preferred

Skills:
Mechanical & Technical Skills: Important for operating presses, assisting with die set-ups, and troubleshooting production issues.
Attention to Detail: Critical for meeting inspection criteria, ensuring correct piece counts, and maintaining customer quality standards.
Communication & Documentation: Needed to read, understand, and follow safety rules, work instructions, and quality documentation.
