Role Overview
We are looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer to join our rapidly growing SaaS platform company. The Pre-Sales Engineer will collaborate and support our sales team as the technical expert in customer presentations and discussions. Further, this role will be the key liaison between the market and the product team to help ensure a market-driven product roadmap. The Pre-Sales Engineer will help develop solutions that meet the needs of our enterprise customers and be involved in launching new products and services leveraging the Ninth Wave Platform. You will also respond to requests from customers for information, proposals, and the technical details of the proposed solutions. The ideal candidate will have to balance technical, commercial, and operational challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Lead complex technical discussions with customers and prospects to requirements
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for prospects during the sales process
  • Interpreting client background information to tailor the solution presentation to the client's specific environment to effectively demonstrate the Ninth Wave value add
  • Help to drive ongoing client success and satisfaction on the platform.
  • Respond to and resolve a wide range of customer inquiries from basic education to technical operations.
  • Collaborate across Ninth Wave product, engineering, sales, and client services functions in orchestrating solutions to customer needs.
  • Provide expertise on the Ninth Wave Platform, evangelizing and educating on marketing use cases and their execution.
  • Identify and tackle obstacles that arise in implementation
  • Participating in user groups, trade shows, and conferences as required

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in a technology solutions or implementation role for a Technical SaaS product servicing Financial Institutions
  • Excellent presentation skills (in-person and remote), ability to own the room with confidence
  • Well-organized, goal oriented, flexible with a willingness to grow professionally
  • Strong analytical skills, adaptable and the ability adjust to atypical issues/opportunities
  • Is comfortable interacting with customers at all levels along with appropriate representatives to analyze, validate, specify, verify, and document business strategy
  • Comfortable working under high levels of accountability and measurable performance
  • Can work efficiently and productively without detailed direction or guidance
  • Has the ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner and capable of exercising good independent judgement
  • Familiarity with financial services data connectivity protocols, e.g., OFX, FDX, BAI2
  • Familiarity with different methods of data sharing in financial services today, i.e., Restful APIs
  • Familiarity with different methods of IAM (identity and access management), specifically oAuth2
  • Comfort with technology and general knowledge of NoSQL and SQL databases and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Bash, JavaScript, Python, Go, Lua, Ruby, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills collaborating with business and technology stakeholders.
  • General knowledge of various digital marketing tools: analytics, attribution, ad serving, DMPs, push, social media.
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for solving problems

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience around SaaS based accounting applications like NetSuite. Microsoft Dynamics or Sage
  • Knowledge of financial planning applications
