Job summary

The System Architect role at Delta Intelligent Building Technologies is a senior technical position responsible for pre-sales system design, solution architecture, and sales enablement within the building automation market. This role partners closely with the Delta IBT sales teams, partners, and customers to design scalable, secure, and future-ready intelligent building solutions.

In addition to opportunity support, this role plays a critical part in training and enabling Delta IBT sales teams on system architecture, solution positioning, and best practices aligned with the Delta IBT technology portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical leadership supporting Delta sales teams across strategic and complex opportunities
  • Architect end-to-end Delta intelligent building solutions, including controllers, networks, software platforms, analytics, and system integrations
  • Translate customer and sales requirements into complete system architectures, including diagrams, narratives, and technical documentation
  • Support RFPs, proposals, and system specifications with clear, differentiated Delta architectures
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to sales teams, integration partners, and end customers
  • Develop and deliver architecture and customer solution training for partners
  • Enable sales teams with technical messaging, solution positioning, and use-case alignment that reflects the Delta IBT value proposition
  • Lead technical discovery, solution reviews, and architecture workshops
  • Evaluate system designs for cybersecurity, scalability, redundancy, and performance
  • Collaborate with Delta product management and engineering to provide market feedback and influence product direction
  • Support Delta Direct and OEM where advanced system architecture is required

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in building automation, controls, or intelligent building systems
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC control systems, building networks, and enterprise integrations
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-sales support, solution architecture, or technical sales roles
  • Ability to train, mentor, and enable sales teams on architecture concepts and system design
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, system interoperability, and software platforms
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions clearly and confidently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Delta Controls platforms or close equivalent
  • Knowledge of open protocols, IT/OT convergence, and cybersecurity in building systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms, analytics, visualization, and data integration
  • Background supporting large commercial, campus, healthcare, or data center environments
  • Experience developing sales enablement or technical training materials

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all USA locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
