Description:

The POS Clerk is primarily responsible for processing cost, price and product information in the HQ system. There may be additional duties given to the clerk as determined by the POS Manager. It is important that the clerk follows procedures, be accurate, work efficiently, able to meet deadlines and can also communicate situations with store level associates. The ideal candidate will need to be able sit at a desk using a computer during long periods of time. 

Essential Job Duties:

               +Maintains pricing integrity in HQ and at Store level.

                       1.    Process and maintains item information in HQ

                       2.    Works closely with the Buying Division to maintain items correctly.

                       3.    Ensures Stores receive accurate and current pricing in a timely manner.

                       4.    Research, resolves and corrects discrepancies in a logical manner.

                       5.    Work with other POS team members to help make any necessary corrections in HQ to ensure cost and pricing integrity.

               +Meet the minimum daily processing standard which will be assigned.

               +Meet deadlines in order that pricing will go timely to the stores and other as determined deadlines.

               +Able to perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

               +Knowledge of the English language so as to understand procedures for processing

               +Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with others.    

               +Able to sit at a desk using equipment for long periods of time

               +Able to hear normally spoken word at 10 feet.

               +Able to learn and practice procedures

               +Must be able to interact positively with all associates and visitors.

               +Specific vision abilities are required by this job that includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth               perception and the ability to focus.

Mental Requirements:

               +Detail oriented, organized, able to multi-task, be resourceful and have good time management skills

               +Able to work independently and as a team member

Work Hours:

+As determined by the employee handbook, may require early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays with occasional longer shifts (10 hours) due to business needs

Equipment:

               +Pen, stapler, calculator, adding machine and computer

Qualifications:

               +High school diploma or equivalent

               +Communication:

                       1.    Ability to effectively communicate with others in English and possess acceptable written and verbal                                                            communication skills in English.

               +Other:

                       1.    Able to do basic math skills

                       2.    Able to use typing skills on the computer and 10 key on an adding machine

                       3.    Able to accurately and efficiently complete work in a timely manner

                       4.    Able to effectively prioritize work and is able to meet deadlines in a short period of time

                       5.    Able to quickly pick up and follow through with various projects and have good

                               trouble-shooting and problem-solving ability
