Position Description

The Payroll Administrator supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll for team members across Applied Medical. This role administers payroll operations, maintains payroll records, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The Payroll Administrator manages wage calculations, deductions, benefits administration, and payroll data integrity across systems such as enterprise resource planning and human capital management platforms. This role helps ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately, payroll inquiries are addressed efficiently, and team members are paid correctly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll transactions including wages, salaries, bonuses, deductions, and benefit withholdings to support accurate biweekly payroll processing.
  • Maintain payroll records and payroll documentation in compliance with payroll regulations, company policies, and Applied Medical quality systems.
  • Monitor payroll data interfaces between enterprise resource planning systems and human capital management platforms such as SAP and UKG\Workforce to ensure accurate data integration.
  • Identify payroll discrepancies, investigate payroll errors, and reconcile payroll data to maintain accurate payroll reporting and payroll records.
  • Input and maintain team member time off requests including vacation and sick leave to ensure accurate payroll calculations.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from team members, managers, and external agencies, including employment verification requests and payroll documentation requests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including human resources, finance, and management to support payroll processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Stay informed of updates to payroll tax laws, payroll compliance requirements, and payroll regulations that impact payroll processing.

  • Hold a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for payroll documentation and reporting.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to review payroll data, identify discrepancies, and support payroll reconciliation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally when responding to payroll inquiries and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills when managing payroll documentation, payroll records, and administrative tasks.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend English to support payroll communication and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain understanding of payroll processing fundamentals including wages, deductions, benefits administration, and payroll compliance.
  • Ability to pass a background check prior to employment.

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP or SAP enterprise resource planning software.
  • Experience working with UKG payroll or human capital management systems such as SAP SuccessFactors and Workforce.
  • Prior experience supporting payroll administration, payroll processing, or payroll operations in a business environment.
  • Bilingual communication skills that support collaboration with diverse teams.
