Job description

Insurance Producer – Path to Ownership

Location: North Platte, NE 69101 / West-Central Nebraska
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $60,000–$125,000+ per year, including base salary, new-business commissions, and renewal commissions

Are you producing at a high level without sharing in the long-term value you create?

If you have built a strong track record in insurance but still have no renewal income, ownership opportunity, or meaningful path forward, this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

Team Member Hire has been retained to conduct a confidential search for a new independent insurance agency serving west-central Nebraska. The agency is being built by experienced insurance leadership and will offer access to a broad selection of national and regional carriers.

This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground level and help build a growing independent agency with experienced support already in place.

Why This Opportunity Is Different
  • Build recurring income: Earn a base salary, new-business commissions, and renewal commissions on the book you develop.
  • Performance-based path to ownership: The right producer will have the opportunity to earn a future buy-in based on production, performance, and long-term fit.
  • Ground-floor opportunity with experienced leadership: Help shape a new agency backed by a respected insurance professional with more than 30 years of experience.
  • Dedicated service support: An experienced service professional is already in place, allowing you to focus primarily on production rather than day-to-day account servicing.
  • Access to multiple carriers: Quote through national and regional markets instead of being limited to a single carrier.
  • Strong commercial opportunity: Pursue business that captive agencies in the region may not be positioned to write.
Responsibilities
  • Prospect for and develop new personal and commercial insurance business
  • Build relationships with individuals, business owners, referral partners, and community contacts
  • Assess insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage options
  • Quote business across available carrier markets and present competitive solutions
  • Manage follow-up activity and move prospects consistently through the sales process
  • Develop and maintain a profitable book of business
  • Partner with the agency’s service professional to provide a smooth customer handoff
  • Represent the agency professionally throughout west-central Nebraska
Qualifications
  • Previous Property and Casualty insurance sales experience required
  • Independent agency experience strongly preferred
  • Commercial lines experience is a significant plus
  • Active Nebraska Property and Casualty license or the ability to transfer an existing license
  • Demonstrated history of insurance sales and relationship development
  • Self-directed, competitive, and motivated by income growth and ownership potential
  • Strong communication, prospecting, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently without requiring close day-to-day management
Location and Territory

The agency will be based in North Platte, Nebraska. Qualified candidates throughout the broader region, including Kearney, Grand Island, and surrounding communities, will be considered. This role offers flexibility in where production occurs, but candidates should be comfortable building relationships and conducting business throughout west-central Nebraska.

Compensation

Expected total compensation: $60,000–$125,000+ per year.

Compensation includes a base salary, new-business commissions, and renewal commissions. Actual earnings will depend on experience, production, and the book of business developed. High performers will have the opportunity to build recurring income and pursue a performance-based path to agency ownership.

Confidential Search

This search is being conducted confidentially. The agency principal’s identity will be shared with qualified candidates during the screening process. Applications will be handled discreetly, and current employers will not be contacted without permission.

How to Apply

Apply with your current resume. Qualified candidates will be contacted by Team Member Hire for a confidential video interview.
