Description

Summary/Objective  

The Outbound Sales Specialist plays a key role in creating memorable experiences for guests by connecting them to Medora's premier shows, lodging, and packages. This position focuses on proactive outbound sales while supporting inbound inquiries, ensuring every interaction reflects the mission to "Make Magic" for customers and the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF). 


Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Plan and execute daily call blocks to past guests, leads, and target businesses; nurture relationships and close sales for ticketed events in Medora 
  • Attach appropriate packages to each sale; present value and handle objections.
  • Prospect and close bulk orders with companies; support ongoing business member utilization with Business Membership Officer (codes, redemptions, scheduling).
  • Handle inbound calls/chats during assigned rotations; convert service inquiries into sales
  • Execute ticket promotions and sold-out strategies on designated dates using our ticketing platform 
  • Document activity in our Customer Relationship Management software, follow scripts and compliance guidelines, manage payment/refund rules 
  • Partner with Group Event Services, Membership Coordinator on bulk ticket days and "sold-out" initiatives.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on creating positive guest experience  
  • Comfortable using ticketing systems, CRM software, and basic computer applications (training provided) 
  • Ability to manage call blocks, document activities accurately and follow established processes  
  • Motivated by goals and performance metrics; maintains persistence and focus  
  • Represents Medora with enthusiasm, positivity, and a commitment to making magic for guests  
  • Works well with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals 


Required Education and Experience 

  • 1-3 years of sales experience, with focus on outbound calling preferred  
  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, or ticketing systems is a plus   
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required  
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or related fields preferred  


Work Environment

This position is in an office environment. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required from April through October.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift to 15 lbs. or more at times.
