Job description

Attention to detail is crucial for this role, so ensure that you read the entire job listing before applying. If you don't read the full listing, you will not be considered.
About Speed.ai

Speed.ai is the AI-powered intake intelligence platform built specifically for personal injury law firms. We help firms convert more of the leads they're already paying for — through case quality scoring, Lead Rescue™, and conversational AI that gives owners real-time visibility into their intake operation. We're profitable, bootstrapped, and growing fast with 100+ firms on the platform. We're now hiring our first Outbound Sales Director to build the second engine of growth alongside our referral channel.

The Role

You will own the outbound new-business motion at Speed.ai end-to-end. That means building the playbook, owning the pipeline number, and personally closing deals. You will report directly to the CEO and sit on the GTM leadership team.

This is a builder seat, not a maintainer seat. We have product-market fit, a clear ICP (personal injury law firms with 5–150 attorneys), and a referral channel that already wins ~40% of qualified deals. Your job is to add a repeatable outbound motion on top of that — one that lets us double ARR without doubling our dependence on partner referrals.

We want a hunter. Someone who is hungry, aggressive, allergic to slow days, and obsessed with closing. If you need a warm lead handed to you to feel comfortable picking up the phone, this is not the seat for you.

What You'll Do

  • Build the outbound playbook from the ground up — sequences, scripts, segmentation, and qualification framework
  • Run high-volume coordinated outbound activity across phone, email, direct mail, and LinkedIn — and set the cultural standard for what aggressive prospecting looks like at Speed.ai
  • Partner with Customer Success to ensure outbound deals onboard cleanly and hit retention benchmarks
  • Build reports the CEO and leadership team can rely on
  • Represent Speed.ai at industry events if needed.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years closing sales in a quota-carrying role
  • Proven track record building an outbound motion from zero or near-zero — not just inheriting one
  • Experience selling into legal, professional services, or another relationship-driven SMB/mid-market vertical strongly preferred
  • Comfort selling to owner-operators and managing partners
  • Strong operator: you live in a sales CRM (we use Attio), you can build a forecast, and you can read a funnel
  • Hungry, aggressive, competitive, and impossible to discourage
  • High-agency, low-ego

What You'll Get

  • A real seat at the table on a small, close knit team building category-defining software
  • Direct access to the CEO and full ownership of your function
  • Competitive base and extremely generous uncapped commission

How to Apply

To apply, do not submit a resume to this listing. Call me instead. Eight six four - seven one two - four two one three. It’s an outbound sales role, so extra credit if you get in front of me in a creative way (not at my house.)

Speed.ai is an equal opportunity employer.
