Operations Administrative Assistant

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio
Location: Corporate Office - Canton, Ohio

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and professional Operations Administrative Assistant to support the Chief Operating Officer at our corporate office in Canton, Ohio.

This role provides high-level, comprehensive administrative support to the COO and plays a key part in helping the organization's operations run efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate is resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions in a fast-paced environment. Success in this position requires strong judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a wide range of administrative support to the COO, including:
    • Attending meetings and preparing minutes or notes
    • Designing and producing PowerPoint presentations and reports
    • Assisting with special projects
    • Maintaining contact lists
    • Making travel arrangements
    • Preparing and submitting expense reports
  • Manage the COO's calendar with a high level of attention to detail, proactively resolving scheduling conflicts and ensuring awareness of upcoming commitments and responsibilities
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion, particularly matters affecting company operations
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings for the COO and other operational departments, including logistics and planning
  • Exercise sound judgment in handling executive-level and C-suite matters
  • Support the COO by researching, collecting, and analyzing information in advance to help conserve time and improve decision-making
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department, including:
    • Receiving and distributing incoming mail
    • Completing employment and income verification requests
    • Processing personnel changes in the HRIS system
    • Assisting with the electronic filing of personnel records
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • 3-5 years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and stay ahead of deadlines
