Job description


Position Summary

The New Home Consultant serves as a support role to the sales team. The position assists the new home specialist in providing quality customer service to our home buyers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the coordination of activities and communications surrounding the home closing, such as handling deposit checks and preparing and delivering contract documents
  • Maintains the quick-move-in home list
  • Manages the priority registration list for all neighborhoods
  • Coordinates listings on MLS and the SMH website
  • Creates digital buildouts in company-provided technology system
  • Collaborates with other departments within the company to resolve customer concerns or system issues
  • Ensures design studio samples are accurate and professionally displayed
  • Assists buyers in the design studio for their color selection process
  • Maintains inventory of refreshments for customers and staff at the model home
  • Assists in light cleaning and decorating duties within the model homes; ensuring porches and floors are swept and model home décor is seasonalized
  • Serves as a substitute for the market coordinator, as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in the use of Windows and Macintosh operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to learn and utilize new software
  • Superior organizational and time management skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build trust and communicate effectively
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with medium noise levels   
  • Prolonged periods of sitting required   
  • Occasionally required to walk, stand, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
