Job description

Join a leading modular home manufacturer as a Modular Homes Sales Representative, where innovation meets quality. 
The Modular Home Sales Representative is responsible for developing, managing, and growing strong business relationships with home builders, developers, and other key partners throughout the state of Virginia. This role focuses on driving sales of modular homes by identifying new opportunities, qualifying potential customers, and providing expert guidance throughout the sales and build process. The ideal candidate is motivated, relationship‑driven, and knowledgeable about construction or willing to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Territory Growth

  • Develop new accounts and expand the company’s presence within the assigned Virginia territory.
  • Maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with home builders, developers, and industry partners.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities to increase modular home sales.

Customer Engagement & Sales Process

  • Engage potential customers through discussions of their needs and building requirements.
  • Present modular home products, features, and customization options in a clear and professional manner.
  • Provide pricing, estimates, and product recommendations based on customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (design, estimating, production, and procurement) to ensure accurate order development.
  • Manage the customer experience from initial inquiry through order completion and delivery.

Product & Industry Knowledge

  • Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of modular home industry, factory processes, and product specifications.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, building codes, and competitive activity within the Virginia market.
  • Provide guidance to builders on modular processes, site work expectations, and integration between factory-built and site-built components.

Documentation & Administrative Duties

  • Prepare and present sales proposals, contracts, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all orders are complete, accurate, and compliant with state/regional building requirements.
  • Maintain territory plans, customer notes, and activity reporting.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal departments to support accurate orders, engineering, production schedules, and customer service needs.
  • Partner with marketing and leadership to execute sales strategies and promotional initiatives.
Qualifications

Required

  • Proven background in sales, real estate, or business development (construction or building materials preferred).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a territory independently and travel throughout Virginia.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

  • Experience in real estate and/or construction.
  • Knowledge of construction or home‑building practices.
  • Existing relationships with builders, realtors, or developers in the Virginia market.
Work Environment

This role includes a combination of remote work, field travel to builder locations and job sites, and regular visits to the manufacturing facility.

Compensation
  • Base Salary: $39,000 per year
  • Commission: 2.5% on all closed sales
  • Typical First-Year Earnings: $50,000–$80,000+
  • Top Performers Earn: $90,000+ annually
