Job Purpose

The Program Manager is responsible for the effective Management of multiple Programs and/or Projects through the Project Life Cycle, tracking the progress and report their results; Providing support for new programs; Leading program-related communications, and taking full program management ownership of related activities performed by multi-disciplined cross-functional teams.
Primary objectives are to manage Projects and Programs knowledge areas from start to finish, to exceed shareholderโ€™s expectations with the performance of the product and the services provided, and to deliver business results that meet or exceed Customersโ€™ and EnerSys expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Primary point of communication interface to the shareholders for respective Programs (local, regional or globally)
  • Prepare documentation and coordinate cross functional PDTs meetings to monitor, control, and provide clear direction, communication and feedback on program tasks.
  • Prepare and report Project & Program Status and ensure requirements are met.
  • Responsible for leading Project Managers within the same Business Unit area effectively
  • Cohesively aligns with other departments and communicate market needs, engineering status, and requirements.
  • Owns program management through complete product life cycle from concept, product development, supplier selection, launch, post-production performance, and lessons learned utilizing Global Product Development Process (GPDP)
  • Coordinating / monitoring Programs and project documentation, timelines, technical performance, budget, production, quality deliverables, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Full Program Management ownership of project and program-related functional activities: purchasing, engineering, testing, quality, manufacturing / launch management, and finance/budget.
  • Support continuous improvement projects, VA/VE activities
  • Follow Change Management through the GPDP
  • Represent Project Management Office as needed at Program, interdepartmental, Operations and Business unit meetings.
  • Support the PMO on new ideas and continuous improvement plans defining better processes as needed
  • Motivate and facilitate multi-disciplined teams.
  • Accountable for Projects and Programs P&L
  • Define direct reports Personal Business Plans
  • Accountable for PLM report and maintenance for assigned projects and programs.
  • Lessons learned database maintenance
Qualifications

This position contains supervisory responsibilities

Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 7 + years of experience of cross-functional exposure with a progression within project management, product engineering, or manufacturing engineering with a verifiable record of results within the automotive or similar industries
  • Proven experience with Project Management Methodology
  • Must have a good understanding of cross-functional responsibilities and their required deliverables.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge on PLM systems
  • Must possess moderately advanced usage of Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Strong interpersonal skills so that necessary alliances with internal functional areas and external groups can be forged and developed quickly.

Preferred

  • Global experience/exposure is strongly preferred.
  • APQP, PMP experience
  • Familiarity with battery technologies
