MHP is hiring a Program Supervisor to provide flexible, community-based support and supervision to staff and report to the Program Manager as required. Program Supervisors oversee program schedules and staff development. Program Supervisors also maintain positive relationships with participants and ensure that participant self-identified goals for recovery, rehabilitation and community integration are supported by appropriate services and best practices by the Recovery Coaches they support. Program Supervisors also help to maintain electronic health record requirements.


The position is located at 2709 N Broad St, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The position will pay an exact hourly rate of $21.63. As an MHP employee, you will have access to the following benefits:

WHAT YOU'LL DO


  • Leads the overall service coordination consistent with MHP & regulatory guidelines; establishes and implements operational procedures and monitors participant visits.
  • In conjunction with the Program Manager, hires, trains, evaluates and develops staff in support of MHP and Recovery core policies, use of electronic health records, practices and principles; address and monitor the specific goals and assignments of each staff member by facilitating weekly one/one supervisory meetings. Manages program staff schedule.
  • In conjunction with Program Manager, designs activities and programs that support participants’ goals. Supervises staff in implementation of these activities and programs.
  • Assists Program Manager in completing service verifications.
  • Engage family, friends and other supporters per participants in their recovery goals (if applicable).
  • Ensure proper application of program, agency, and quality assurance and compliance procedures, including supervision and training requirements.
  • Work with participants and staff as needed to ensure continuity of care.
  • Ensures staff obtains necessary information during the intake process, and that they collaboratively document participant progress in MHP’s electronic health records system; approves entries as required.
  • Maintains a small caseload of participants by performing the essential job duties of a Recovery Coach, such as the creation of self-directed goal plans, the identification of resources, the coordinator of relevant supports, the creation of WRAP plans, and the collaborative documentation of participant progress in the Electronic Health Records system; responsible for shared on-call duties.
  • Assists participants with educational, employment, and social related goals, benefit acquisition/medical, mental health and substance use services, budgeting skills and exploring housing options in accordance with the support plan.
  • Other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP’s mission.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of mental health experience (including internships or volunteering).
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience (including internships or volunteering).
  • Credentialed as a Certified Peer Specialist through the PA Certification Board.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, time sheet management, electronic health records, internet research, etc. using relevant software; must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Patience and tactfulness; ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of individuals including participants with mental health conditions, alcohol and drug abuse recovery.
  • Strong skillsets in oral and written communication, cultural competence, interpersonal relationships and teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem solving and organization.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing; depending on your program, must have access to a car to use for work on a daily basis with automobile insurance coverage at the state requirement levels and current state registration.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Sit at a desk with ergonomically appropriate equipment.
  • Lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and be available for flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends and/or overtime as needed.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Must be able to travel within the community that may not be handicap accessible: walking and/or drive agency vehicles, depending on the needs of the program. Ability to use public transportation, move around inner-city neighborhoods daily, including in inclement weather, carry computer equipment, and ascend/descend stairs carrying computer equipment. Must be able to travel to all sites supported, and MHP’s main offices as needed.
  • Frequent talking and listening. Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly and accurately; possible exposure to loud and/or vulgar language and hostile gestures, given participant mental health diagnoses and challenges.
  • Ability to drive a multi-passenger van and physically support passengers during ingress/egress as needed and/or assist disabled individuals in an emergency evacuation.
