Job description

Founded in Philadelphia, Spring Point Partners, LLC (Spring Point) is a social impact organization

that invests in the transformational leaders, networks and solutions that power community change

and advance justice.

We do this by seeking out and supporting community leaders who have the vision to see whatโ€™s

possible and the drive to make that real; connecting the experience of partners with comprehensive

and flexible supports for shared learning and impact; and investing in innovative ideas and

adaptive solutions that can spark and scale change for all.

Whether weโ€™re partnering on youth development, equity in learning, animal welfare, economic

justice, or investing in new business models that close opportunity gaps and boost social and

economic mobility, we center equity and justice in all we do โ€” supporting individuals and ideas

that can have a catalytic impact in their communities and on our society.

Together, letโ€™s change the way social impact is achieved.

ABOUT THE HIVE

As part of Spring Pointโ€™s portfolio, The Hive focuses on a strength-based approach to youth

development, specifically related to amplifying voice, choice, and opportunity for all young

people. We do this by supporting efforts that seek to transform the narrative around adolescence

from one that is deficit-focused to one that is strengths-based, and that works to overcome

individual and systemic barriers that may prevent young people from realizing their full potential.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Sr. Program Officer, Hive/Lead, Youth Strategy (SPO) reports to the Chief Grants Officer and

serves as the strategic leader for The Hive's youth development portfolio. Grounded in

Philadelphia, the work is designed to generate models, partnerships, and practices that strengthen

youth serving systems and influence the field of adolescent development more broadly.

The role translates Spring Point's strategic priorities around youth into coordinated action

through a combination of grantmaking, tailored learning initiatives, strategic convenings and

campaigns, partnership development, and other field-building efforts. It designs and oversees

interconnected programming with the goals of strengthening partner organizational capacity,

advancing the implementation of adolescent-centered practices across stakeholders, enhancing

cross-sector collaboration, and accelerating systems change efforts.

The position provides leadership for a dynamic portfolio that extends beyond grantmaking -

overseeing learning and training initiatives, managing consultants and strategic partnerships,

convening leaders across sectors, and advancing collaborative efforts that strengthen the broader

youth ecosystem. The role also supervises the Sr. Program Officer, Youth Justice, fostering

alignment, collaboration, and shared accountability across the youth portfolio.

Success in this role requires a highly credible youth development leader with deep domain

expertise, exceptional facilitation and relationship-building skills, and the ability to translate

strategy into meaningful action. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing strategy,

designing learningexperiences, convening diverse stakeholders, supervising talent, and leading initiatives that create lasting impact for young people.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role with a hybrid schedule of three days a week at the

Philadelphia office and two days virtual, with schedule adjustments as needed based on the

organization or department needs. May also require occasional travel to partner sites.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Working closely with the Chief Grants Officer, the Learning Team, other Senior Program Officers,

and internal and external partners, the SPO provides strategic leadership across all facets of

youth strategy, grantmaking, learning, field building, and systems change.

Specifically, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

โ€ข Strategic Leadership, Field Building & Systems Change โ€“ Lead the continued evolution and

implementation of The Hive's youth strategy. Co-create and translate Spring Point's strategic

priorities into initiatives that strengthen youth-serving systems, build cross-sector partnerships,

and advance adolescent-centered practices. Identify emerging opportunities, cultivate strategic

relationships, convene diverse stakeholders, and lead collaborative efforts that influence

practice, policy, and systems change in Philadelphia while contributing to models and learning that

can inform the field more broadly.

โ€ข Learning, Programming & Facilitation โ€“ Design, develop, and oversee a cohesive portfolio of

learning experiences, convenings, and programming that strengthen the knowledge, capacity, and

effectiveness of organizations serving young people. Develop curriculum and learning

frameworks, identify and manage expert facilitators and consultants, translate research into

practical application for diverse audiences, and create programming that serves as connective

tissue across partners, sectors, and initiatives.

โ€ข Strategic Grantmaking & Partnership Development โ€“ Lead a grantmaking portfolio that advances

Spring Point's youth strategy while cultivating trusted partnerships with grantees, funders,

researchers, public agencies, and community organizations. Foster a culture of co-accountability,

identify opportunities to co-create strategic initiatives, connect partners with leadership

coaching and technical assistance, and steward relationships that strengthen partnersโ€™

organizational capacity, collaboration, and long-term impact.

โ€ข Leadership, Supervision & Portfolio Management โ€“ Supervise, coach, and develop direct reports,

fostering strong collaboration, accountability, and alignment across the youth portfolio. Manage

consultants, trainers, strategic partnerships, budgets, and complex initiatives while ensuring

thoughtful stewardship of resources, high-quality execution, and successful achievement of

strategic priorities.

โ€ข Organizational Leadership & Continuous Learning โ€“ Collaborate across Spring Point to evaluate

the effectiveness of initiatives, capture emerging insights, and continuously strengthen strategy

and practice. Represent Spring Point and The Hive in external settings, contribute thought

leadership across the organization, and remain current on emerging trends in youth development,

adolescent science, systems change, adult learning, and related fields.

โ€ข Additional Responsibilities โ€“ Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support

of Spring Point's mission, strategic priorities, and organizational needs.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

โ€ข Professional Experience - At least 7โ€“10 years of progressive leadership experience in youth

development, philanthropy, nonprofit, government, education, or a related social impact

organization, with demonstrated success leading complex initiatives, partnerships, or programs.

โ€ข  Youth Development & Systems Expertise โ€“ Deep expertise in youth development and a strong

understanding of the systems, institutions, and policies that shape outcomes for young people.

Experience advancing cross-sector strategies, systems change, or field-building initiatives that

strengthen opportunities for youth.

โ€ข  Strategic Leadership & Program Development โ€“ Demonstrated experience developing and

advancing strategy within a complex social impact environment. Ability to translate organizational

priorities into actionable plans, innovative programming, cross-sector partnerships, and

measurable outcomes while continuously evaluating and refining approaches to maximize impact for

young people.

โ€ข Learning, Facilitation & Capacity Building โ€“ Experience designing and leading learning

experiences, convenings, curriculum, or professional development initiatives for diverse

audiences. Exceptional facilitation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, translate

complex concepts into practical application, and foster meaningful collaboration across sectors.

โ€ข Partnership & Relationship Leadership โ€“ Proven ability to build trusted relationships and

influence diverse stakeholders, including nonprofit leaders, funders, researchers, public agencies,

community organizations, and other partners. Demonstrated success convening groups, building

consensus, and leading through influence rather than authority.

fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth. Demonstrated ability to manage

consultants, cross-functional initiatives, and organizational resources effectively.

โ€ข Values Alignment โ€“ Demonstrated commitment to advancing positive outcomes for young people and

โ€ข Education โ€“ Bachelor's degree required; master's degree or relevant advanced degree preferred.
