Site Material Coordinator
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.
The Material Coordinator will oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of construction materials at the job site's temporary warehouse. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role involves coordinating incoming deliveries from suppliers, managing pickups by subcontractors, and maintaining accurate inventory using material management software. The ideal candidate is experienced, organized, and adept at working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Material Coordinator: $75K - $120K
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Site Material Coordinator Responsibilities Include:
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA and site-specific safety standards, ensuring safe material handling and warehouse operations.

  • Material Receipt and Inspection: Receive and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, inspect materials for quality and quantity, and document discrepancies.

  • Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve issues related to timing, shortages, or material specifications.

  • Subcontractor Interaction: Schedule and manage material pickups by subcontractors, ensuring accurate handoff, verification, and documentation.

  • Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory using material management software. Monitor stock levels and report shortages or overages to the Project Manager.

  • Warehouse Operations: Operate forklifts and other equipment to organize and store materials safely and efficiently in the temporary warehouse.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including delivery receipts, pickup logs, and inventory reports.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Manager and site team to align material availability with construction schedules.

  • Support the project team in administrative tasks as needed.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Site Material Coordinator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Prior experience in material coordination, warehouse management, or logistics, preferably in construction. Experience on school or public works projects is a plus.

  • Proficiency in material management software.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with suppliers, subcontractors, and site staff.

  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, delivery schedules, and basic construction plans.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Forklift certification test will be administered/required at project site.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics, construction management, or related fields is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic job site setting.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Comply with company Motor Vehicle Policy.

  • Present professional image at all times.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) a must.
