Job description

DAC Engineered Products is currently seeking a Materials Specialist to join our growing team. The Materials Specialist is responsible for ensuring that inventory processes, warehouse operations, and materials management projects are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with company goals. Key areas include leading warehouse clean-up initiatives, onboarding new brake projects, managing PMA supply, and implementing Quantum system improvements to support growth and profitability of the business. This position also serves as a key liaison between operations, supply chain, and shipping function to resolve material issues.

Salary Range: $65,000/year to $100,000/year

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead inventory and warehouse clean-up initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency including supervisory responsibility for the Stockroom Associate and other warehouse personnel at the discretion of the Materials Manager.
  • Develop and execute inventory control strategies, including cycle count programs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and material availability.
  • Onboard new brakes projects, ensuring materials and processes are in place for successful launches.
  • Manage inventory planning and replenishment strategies for PMA product lines, including determining stocking levels, identifying supply risks, recommending sourcing alternatives, and implementing corrective actions to maintain customer delivery performance.
  • Drive second source de-risking efforts to strengthen supply chain resilience.
  • Set up and maintain a bonded warehouse in compliance with regulations.
  • Implement system improvements to Quantum module to increase system maturity and ensure data accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain materials management processes, controls, and documentation standards to support operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, engineering, and quality to ensure materials availability.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, usage, and variances; highlight trends and issues to leadership and implement solutions.
  • Help create and maintain procedures and best practices for materials management.
  • Lead departmental projects and coordinate cross-functional resources to achieve materials management objectives.
  • Act as a stand in for the Materials Manager when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field is highly preferred; and/or five plus years relevant work experience.
  • Prior experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or materials management preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (Quantum experience is highly desirable).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Problem-solving mindset with willingness to roll up sleeves and support hands-on tasks.
  • Analytical and data driven, with the ability to interpret trends.
  • Team oriented with strong communication skills.
