Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Material Controller, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The Material Controller will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Open to internal and external candidates. The selected candidate for this requisition may be required to work outside normal business hours and/or extended work hours.

Job Duties:

  • Performs material planning and coordination activities.
  • Serves as the focal point and subject matter expert for acquisition of all material and outside services required to support the assigned project.
  • Monitors material progress/status expedites both internally and externally to meet material availability requirements. Report status to management.
  • Makes credit card purchases in accordance with company procedures.
  • Works with the task or project teams in the planning, selection, and expediting material required for the assigned project. Ensures the project team is informed of the status of procurement activities required for the project.
  • Works with the project team to plan the required procurements to ensure they will support the project schedule and are cost effective
  • Ensures material requirements are included in the planning phase of work activities. Identifies items readily available from on-site inventory sources and assist in research of sources for non-inventory items. 
  • Provides lead time information for items to be procured, interfaces with Acquisitions to ensure need items are delivered to support planned work activities.
  • Responsible for the input maintenance, assessment and correction of Material Management data in the applicable data base.
  • Continuously performs priority allocations to ensure material availability well in advance of installation requirements.
  • Assists with material/property inventories including identification and disposition for assigned areas.
  • Ensures task completion addresses the proper disposition of excess/unused items and material.
  • Maintains direct working relationship with Procurement, Project Controls, and other site organizations to ensure needed material is available to support ongoing activities.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in business management or related discipline and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, i.e. material management, purchasing, inventory, and/or office management.   
  • Current U.S. Citizenship is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related discipline.
  • Proficiency and experience in the management of material in a government environment.
  • Understanding of and experience in warehouse operations, freight shipping/receiving/handling, material handling methods & equipment, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and operations related to the acquisition of materials, services and equipment, and of the Construction discipline, the work process and deliverables produced.
  • Knowledge in the use of standard databases.
