Role Summary:
Title: Controller
Reports to: Executive Leadership Team
Location: Irving, TX
Team Involvement: Oversees a team of 6 direct reports across accounting and administrative functions, within a total team of 7
Primary Focus: Lead all accounting operations, oversee corporate accounting responsibilities, and partner cross-functionally to support business growth while preparing to step into a VP/CFO leadership role in the near term

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the entire accounting function, including AR, AP, general accounting, collections, and administrative support functions
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency
Manage corporate accounting activities and maintain strong financial reporting practices
Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to support decision-making and business performance
Establish and improve accounting processes, controls, and infrastructure to support ongoing growth
Supervise and develop a team of accounting and administrative professionals, fostering a collaborative and accountable environment
Serve as a key liaison to the executive team, providing insights and financial guidance
Support budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial planning activities
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Play a critical role in transitioning responsibilities from the current Controller and gaining deep operational knowledge of the business

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA is a plus
8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong leadership exposure
Experience in construction, building materials, or related industries is strongly preferred
Background in sales accounting or revenue-driven environments is a plus
Proven ability to lead teams and oversee full-cycle accounting operations
Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to partner across the organization
Hands-on, adaptable leader who thrives in a growth-oriented environment
Demonstrated interest in long-term career growth with a desire to step into an executive leadership role
Ability to operate both strategically and tactically within a close-knit, relationship-driven culture

Compensation & Benefits:
Target base compensation range: $115K to $125K, with flexibility for the right candidate
Bonus: Discretionary bonus based on company performance, typically ranging 15%-25%
Future Upside: Significant increase in compensation upon promotion to VP/CFO, including substantial monthly bonus opportunities
Work Environment: In-office role with business hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, offering flexibility for occasional remote needs
