Strategic Account Manager

OVERVIEW:

The Strategic Account Manager will develop and maintain a customer-specific relationship and establish a sales/spare parts strategy to manage and grow the KSB GIW, Inc. business. This plan will include managing all aspects of sales, market development, technical support, and growth for GIW products and KSB SupremeServ business. You will work closely with the Service team to leverage their technical expertise and capabilities to grow your customer's business. Your strong mechanical and strategic aptitude will support company sales, profits, and market share, ensuring a successful relationship between GIW and the customer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand the customers' maintenance strategies and identify synergies with GIW
  • Develop customer focused sales strategies and goals in conjunction with corporate strategies and goals
  • Establish and facilitate intra-company relationships
  • Facilitate coordination of company processes and work teams to enhance customer satisfaction and company revenue growth
  • Responsible for growing sales with assigned customers and development of selected new customers in market segment
  • Assist other team members with customer development, including joint customer visits and technical advice
  • Develop and maintain a planned call schedule to ensure adequate customer interface
  • Arrange quarterly or half a year review meetings with the selected customers
  • Create preferred or exclusive supply arrangements
  • Early recognition of conflict / problems areas for quick resolution
  • Facilitate technical support with customer reliability engineers and GIW engineering group to troubleshoot and recommend solutions in existing and new applications
  • Aid in providing recommendations to optimize maintenance and operational procedures on customer sites, including preparation of technical documentation and investigation reports related to application improvements
  • Assist the Business Development Manager with developing appropriate strategies, goals, tactics, etc. for the benefit of the region and GIW, including sales forecasts for assigned customers
  • Identify and initiate efforts for technological developments to differentiate GIW
  • Available after hours and weekends for customer emergencies
  • Assists in the technical training & development of other GIW Sales Engineers and technical staff
  • Comply with company rules, policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
  • Field support during pump overhauls or failure inspections

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma, with a minimum of 5 years industry experience
  • Commercial experience on technical equipment preferred
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude (capable of reading and understanding drawing layouts and parts sheets)
  • Deep understanding of pumping systems and customer applications
  • Strategy delivery
