What is market development?

Market development is a business growth strategy that focuses on introducing existing products or services to new markets or customer segments. This can involve expanding geographically, targeting different demographic groups, or finding new uses for a product. The goal is to increase sales and revenue by identifying and cultivating untapped market opportunities. Market development professionals analyze market trends, assess customer needs, and create strategies to reach potential buyers. They often work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to implement these initiatives.

How does a Market Development professional typically collaborate with sales and product teams to drive business growth?

  • Partner with field teams to support launch execution, account activation, and ongoing utilization growth.
  • Help develop and refine tools, resources, and best practices that enable the field to effectively communicate the clinical and economic value of ActivL and other Highridge solutions.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and provide recommendations to optimize market development efforts and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in medical device, spine, orthopedics, or related healthcare field.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience supporting surgeons, procedures, and hospital-based care environments.
