POSITION SUMMARY
The Director - Market Development is responsible for leading the global strategy, execution, and optimization of integrated market development, demand generation and go-to-market programs that drive pipeline growth, revenue, and market expansion across Cryoport Systems' core business segments. This role partners closely with Commercial, Sales, and Marketing leadership to align market development and demand generation initiatives with business priorities and ensure measurable impact across key stages of the buyer journey. The Director - Market Development owns performance, investment decisions, and operational excellence across all digital and omnichannel programs, while building scalable frameworks and driving measurable contribution to revenue growth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated inbound, outbound, and account-based marketing programs for the company's specific target segments within the Biopharmaceutical, Animal Health, and Reproductive Medicine markets.
  • Partner closely with commercial leadership to define go-to-market strategies, engagement frameworks, and content aligned to business priorities, lead generation and revenue growth.
  • Own and optimize go-to-market demand generation strategies to drive pipeline, qualified leads, new client acquisition, and cross-sell expansion.
  • Oversee the full omnichannel demand generation funnel, including MQL/SQL conversion, nurturing programs, and website lead capture.
  • Drive performance and continuous optimization across all inbound and outbound demand generation channels.
  • Provide strategic oversight of digital marketing initiatives, including email, SEO/SEM, paid media, digital advertising, Google Ads, and social media to drive measurable performance outcomes.
  • Enhance the effectiveness and governance of marketing automation within Salesforce Pardot to improve lead quality, segmentation, nurturing and database integrity.
  • Accelerate pipeline generation and opportunity creation to meet or exceed company growth targets across all business segments.
  • Develop and execute integrated paid and organic programs to expand the marketing database and strengthen pipeline, including PPC, content marketing, social media, and webinar strategies.
  • Define and optimize channel mix across email, digital advertising, SEO, webinars, and social platforms to maximize performance and ROI.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and lead a test-and-learn culture to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Build and enhance demand generation operational processes, reporting frameworks, and attribution models to measure program effectiveness and marketing ROI.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop market development and demand generation team members, providing direction, accountability, and performance management.
  • Deliver data-driven insights and executive-level dashboard reporting on pipeline, campaign performance, and revenue impact.
  • Own market development and demand generation budget planning and optimization, ensuring efficient allocation of spend to achieve maximum return.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 15+ years of experience in digital marketing and demand generation, preferable in the Biopharmaceutical industry
  • Expertise in performance marketing, including SEO, PPC, paid media, social, email, segmentation, and lead nurturing
  • Strong experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms, including Salesforce/Pardot
  • Proficiency in Office 365 tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams
