Reports to: Director, Integrated Marketing
Collaboration: Daily collaboration across the Integrated Marketing Team; Regular collaboration with teams across the organization including Brand Strategy, Marketing Operations, Creative and Content, Communications.
Team Overview: Integrated Marketing is the heartbeat of the marketing department, building seamless and connected pathways to fans to drive growth and engagement. Considering the full marketing mix with a spotlight on digital and social, the integrated marketing team is responsible for developing and executing detailed marketing plans, derived from Brand Strategy with support from Marketing Operations. As fan and channel experts, Integrated Marketing understands and implements the best ways to connect with fans based on campaign objectives.
Position Summary: The Manager of Performance Marketing is responsible for driving global awareness of the Lakers brand and growing fandom internationally at a rapid scale. The ideal candidate is a paid media expert who understands how to effectively utilize paid placements across social and digital platforms to reach new global audiences. The role will keep a pulse on and understand cultural trends and nuances within priority international markets to drive international fan engagement. As part of the larger Integrated Marketing plans, this role will promote key marketing initiatives such as tentpoles, seasonal milestones, and cultural moments within priority international markets with support and guidance from Brand Strategy, Marketing Operations, and the broader Integrated Marketing team.
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities**):
Digital Growth Strategy and Paid Media Execution
  • Lead the creation and execution of a multi-channel paid social strategy. Perform daily management of paid social campaigns across owned channels, including launches, budget management, data tracking, analysis, optimization, and reporting. Drive results including follower growth, increased reach, partnership goals, etc.
  • Partner with integrated marketing and social leads to create a growth blueprint with primary focus on social, both worldwide and in select priority markets that connect consumers to the Lakers brand
  • Partner with Creative and Marketing Operations to brief in creative assets needed across campaigns, with attention to fan growth, high-performing engagement, integrated storytelling, global corporate partnerships inclusion and production requirements
  • Serve as liaison to third parties and agencies that collaborate on international initiatives that optimize opportunities to drive growth across international markets
  • Partner with Business Analytics team to ensure regular organic/paid performance and insights reporting on international campaigns and implement learnings for future campaigns
  • Work with Communications to integrate international media relations plans into omni-channel marketing plans

Global Marketing Channels and Campaign Management (Social, Digital, and more)
  • Ongoing management of in-market social media accounts
  • Conduct research of priority markets, and maintain a strong pulse on international trends, talent, culture, and nuances that drive fandom across the world. Bring innovative ideas to the table
  • Manage execution of international-focused digital projects such as in-market sweepstakes, IRL activations, and more, working collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders
  • Identify and execute key in-language moments that can be utilized in creative from Media Day, games, press conferences and more
  • Activate digital and social engagement across game day moments including global sponsorship marketing requirements
  • Work with Global Corporate Partnerships to include international partners across digital and social platforms, supporting both brand awareness and performance marketing objectives

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or related field; advanced and continuing education preferred.
Previous Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in social media marketing (3+ years in paid social required)
  • Proven success launching and implementing paid social ad campaigns for high-profile brands
  • Proven success managing reporting of paid performance campaigns and finding efficiencies
  • Proven success with global digital and social activations for a global brand
  • Agency experience or agency management experience a plus
  • International marketing experience a plus

Technology Capabilities:
  • Social Media Platform Proficiency (Meta, X, YouTube, TikTok etc.)
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Understanding of asset design and production requirements across digital and social platforms
  • Project Management Software (Jira, Trello, Wrike)

Location: El Segundo (offices M-F), downtown Los Angeles (Crypto.com arena for Laker home games), other occasional off-site events
Travel: Up to 10% of the time
Hours: This position requires continual attention due to the perpetual nature of the NBA season; after-hours time is mandatory; must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
The pay range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications. In addition to those factors, we consider the relative pay of our current employees in similar positions when making a final offer.
