Job Description:
What will you work on?
As a Director of Franchise Development, you will be a key leader responsible for architecting the strategic roadmap for our most important intellectual properties. You will champion these franchises by coordinating across our three Creative Centers (Toys, Entertainment, and Digital Games) to develop multi-year transmedia plans. Your goal is to maximize the global audience connection, fan passion, and long-term financial returns for Spin Master's franchise portfolio.
How will you create impact?
  • Lead the development of multi-year franchise strategies and roadmaps for priority IPs to ensure a cohesive vision for long-term growth.
  • Conduct in-depth franchise evaluations and competitive research to inform strategic planning and identify new avenues for growth.
  • Identify and champion cross-divisional opportunities for expansion, including content extensions, fan engagement initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between our Creative Centers, Products, Licensing, and Distribution divisions to coordinate franchise initiatives.
  • Utilize predictive analytics and global consumer insights to forecast trends, identify new audience segments, and build data-backed cases for franchise expansion.
  • Collaborate with Consumer Insights and Data Analytics teams to track and report on franchise health, engagement, and overall business performance.
  • Oversee the development of franchise brand guidelines to ensure brand integrity and narrative continuity across all global consumer touchpoints.
  • Champion and nurture high-potential IP from within Spin Master, developing it from concept to a global franchise.

What are your skills and experience?
  • A degree in a relevant field; an MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • Progressive experience in entertainment, gaming, or consumer products with a direct focus on brand management, franchise development, or IP strategy.
  • Proven expertise in leading and influencing cross-divisional teams and senior executives.
  • A strong understanding of narrative development, fandom, and the relationship between storytelling and consumer engagement.
  • An analytical mindset with a demonstrated ability to translate complex data and market trends into actionable strategy.
  • Proven ability to recognize and evaluate creative concepts and storylines for their long-term brand fit and global franchise potential.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is $165,000 to $180,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
