Summary
Drive reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across our feed mill operations. As a Feed Mill Maintenance Planner, you will lead the planning, scheduling, and coordination of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment performance, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient production. You will partner closely with Maintenance, Operations, Production, Procurement, and Safety teams while leveraging Maximo CMMS and data-driven insights to optimize maintenance strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance long-term asset reliability. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving operational performance through strategic planning and continuous improvement.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Plan and schedule maintenance work orders in alignment with industry best practices, ensuring efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment.
• Anticipate business needs by aligning maintenance plans with production schedules, throughput demands, preventive maintenance programs, and leadership priorities.
• Ensure optimal equipment functionality while supporting cost control and budget adherence.
• Estimate labor hours and resource requirements for maintenance activities.
• Communicate job scope and expectations clearly to maintenance teams.
• Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to reduce unplanned downtime and improve overall equipment reliability.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, downtime, and efficiency metrics.
• Utilize Maximo CMMS to create, prioritize, and manage work orders.
• Utilize Maximo CMMS to maintain asset histories and maintenance records.
• Utilize Maximo CMMS to track parts usage and inventory needs.
• Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of parts, materials, and services.
• Support compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and internal Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, and maintenance efficiency.
• Order necessary parts and maintenance materials within approved limits.
• Schedule preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
Minimum Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience.
• Demonstrated technical competency equivalent to a Perdue Maintenance A Mechanic.
• Proven leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree.
• Additional technical education, including an associate degree, certifications, or vocational training.
• Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems, including Maximo.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Working knowledge of purchasing systems and processes.
• Experience in feed mill, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance environments.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
• Work in office settings, feed mill operations, and industrial environments with temperature extremes.
• Require frequent movement throughout the facility, including production and maintenance areas.
• Work around dust, noise, moving equipment, chemicals, and confined spaces.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for various operational areas.
• Perform indoor and outdoor work in varying environmental conditions.
• Work around commercial vehicles, including trucks and tractors.
• Travel occasionally to remote facilities or meetings.
