LOCATION: Itasca, Illinois
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday & Saturday as needed
HOURS: 1st Shift: 6:00AM to 4:15PM
2nd Shift: 4:45PM to 3:00AM
Mail Handler/Sweeper
The Mail Handler/Sweeper is responsible for efficiently removing mail from the sorting machine and accurately placing it into the designated trays. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to frequently lift trays of mail onto conveyors in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Removes mail from the sorting machine and, with a high level of accuracy, places it into the correct trays using a numerical code
• Ensures the machine-bin number matches with rack-tray number when handling mail
• Ensures all mail is placed correctly with address facing the front of the tray
• Monitors LDU bin display to identify and clear jams as needed
• Removes mail from pockets when they become full
• Moves full trays weighing between 20-40 pounds to the conveyor
• Transfers mail from large trays into smaller trays as directed by the machine operator
• Replaces full trays with empty ones and inserts corresponding tags in tray pockets
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned

RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALES

  • Verifica que el número del contenedor de la máquina coincida con el número de la bandeja del estante al manipular el correo

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in the mailing industry, manufacturing or warehouse environment utilizing conveyor systems or assembly lines preferred
• Previous shift work experience in a fast-paced environment required
• Ability to identify numbers and accurately match numerical codes
• Must be able to frequently lift mail trays weighing up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to continuously stand, walk, bend, reach and twist throughout shift
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
