Catholic Charities has an immediate opening for a full time Kitchen Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the Adult Day Center Program Director, the Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and providing assistance with activities of daily living.

Starting pay is $17.40 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Kitchen Coordinator Principal Accountabilities
Client Services
- Provide ongoing individualized care and monitoring of dietary needs according to participant's care plan.
- Responsible for meal preparation and clean up for clients.
- Monitor and report changes in participant's condition and behavior to appropriate staff in a timely and accurate manner.
- Establish a supportive relationship with each participant.
- Prepare and facilitates individual and small group activities that are meaningful, purposeful and of interest to program participants.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Program Management
- Ensure proper condition and cleanliness of kitchen, equipment and food surfaces.
- Manage general operations and inventory of the dining room and kitchen.
- Plan, purchase, prepare, and serve nutritious snacks and beverages within the program budget.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner and ensure the kitchen is incompliance with federal, state, agency funders, and Catholic Charities standards
- Assist in orientation, training, safety, and oversight of program volunteers.
Kitchen Coordinator Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years' experience working with older adults
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures.
- Ability to respectfully approach and provide positive redirection for individuals who have various diagnoses.
- Ability to be flexible and meet the needs of participants and the program.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and tolerate medium to high physical effort including walking, standing, lifting, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching, pushing. and /or pulling.
- Ability to follow directions, organize and prioritize work assignments
- The ability to collaborate and solve problems with co-workers to ensure quality care.
- Ability to understand and follow individual participant care plans.
- Excellent time management skills.
