Position: Culinary Coordinator

Department: Dietary

Location: Marlette, MI (Heartlands)

Hours: Full Time. Days. Full Benefits.

Sign on Bonus: $2,500 (Half at start date, half after 6 months of employment)

Aspire Rural Health System is hiring a Culinary Coordinator! We’re looking for individuals with a positive attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to delivering the highest quality of service to both our residents and employees.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in working with older adults desired. Must have a genuine desire to assist older adults with Dementia
  • Previous experience in a health care facility food service department preferred.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills
  • Must be able to communicate well with residents, their family members and other staff
  • Must be mature, friendly and enjoy working with people
  • Ability to handle and manipulate equipment in supervising, demonstrating and assisting in food preparation and serving
  • Knowledge of computer PC operations and software e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Neat in appearance and good personal hygiene
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be CPR/First Aid Certified.(willing to provide training if needed)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee day to day operations of the Culinary Department at The Heartlands, provide direct supervision of culinary staff and participates in their hiring, training, work assignments, evaluations and reporting disciplinary items, contribute to the establishment of departmental goals and creatively lead work groups to achieve identified targets, perform weekly inventory, perform regular departmental meetings to meet the education needs of staff members, maintain records to meet laws and regulations, collaborate with other departments to enhance resident experience, meet with residents to coordinate resident menu requests and improve resident satisfaction, prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures.
