About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to support field operations on commercial construction projects. This role works closely with the Senior Superintendent and Project Management team to ensure jobsite coordination, safety compliance, quality control, and accurate project documentation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into a Superintendent role while gaining hands-on experience in project execution and leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Construction Support
  • Assist with organizing and distributing pre-construction meeting materials (internal, owner, subcontractor).
  • Create and maintain jobsite files and project organizational charts.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to update buyout schedules and initial tasks in Procore.
  • Set up and maintain the jobsite trailer and project bulletin board.

Construction Phase Execution
  • Complete daily superintendent checklists as directed.
  • Monitor subcontractor activity and report coordination issues to the Senior Superintendent.
  • Track purchase order deliveries and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain inventory logs for tools and materials (as applicable).
  • Participate in 2-week look-ahead and schedule review meetings.
  • Support weekly site safety meetings (shared responsibility with Senior Superintendent).
  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness standards and enforce housekeeping expectations.
  • Ensure all project communication is properly documented in Procore.

Project Documentation & Quality Control
  • Maintain daily logs, delay tracking, and To-Do items (as directed by Senior Superintendent).
  • Coordinate inspections and verify deliveries.
  • Follow up with the PM team on RFIs and submittals.
  • Support redlines and As-Built documentation at the direction of the Senior Superintendent.
  • Conduct regular quality control walkthroughs and document findings.

Closeout Support
  • Assist with gathering and organizing closeout documentation.
  • Support punch list walks and subcontractor follow-up.
  • Help finalize As-Built documentation in coordination with field and design teams.

Qualifications
  • 1-2+ years of experience in commercial construction (field role preferred).
  • Experience supporting or assisting a Superintendent.
  • Working knowledge of Procore or similar construction management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • OSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Reliable transportation and ability to be on-site daily.
