Job description

Brightline Construction is looking for a motivated and dependable Construction Laborer to join our dedicated team. Under the guidance of a site supervisor, the Construction Laborer will be involved in a variety of both residential and commercial projects primarily in the Ann Arbor area. We seek the right person to join us as we continue to add value to real estate and make our community a better place to be in.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare job sites including demolition, clean up, and establishing safe and compliant work zones
  • Load, unload, and prepare any tools or materials used to complete the build so the crew can operate efficiently
  • Work together with the crew through all stages of the project to make sure that the job is done efficiently and in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Assist with skilled labor tasks as needed including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other trade work as needed
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure you and your team members are free from injury
  • Clean up any tools, trash, and building materials once construction is complete to ensure a clean worksite


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Knowledge of basic engineering and construction laborer methods preferred
  • Experience using construction equipment, hand tools, and power tools preferred
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, take direction, and follow through
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination, good balance, and have the physical strength to complete all tasks (bending, lifting, reaching) both indoors and outdoors
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments
  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically
